I once had feedback from a leadership team member that my calm management style might be causing a problem.

When I stated things factually and calmly, it might be causing another leadership team member to misunderstand that their department was truly falling short of expectations and their department needs to address certain issues.

I was saying what I needed to say to this person during 1:1s and leadership team meetings, but the person wasn't hearing the importance because my tone was too calm.

This has stuck with me. It’s about each team member’s style — not mine — and I need to individualize my approach based on personality type.
