Most higher ed institutions arent investing strategically in their data architecture, or they overspend on an ERP and think pushing as much data into custom tables in the ERP solves the need. This creates a garbage-in-garbage-out scenario that some institutions won’t learn until the post-mortem of an AI initiative that did not produce results. Institutions need to invest in a deliberate data strategy that uses proven approaches and aligns with their strategic plan.
