Times Higher Education released its latest global ranking on Wednesday. The United States stands out with 23 universities in the top 50. The UK follows with seven, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College London. China has four entries: Tsinghua, Peking, Fudan, and Zhejiang universities. Canada and Germany each have three institutions in the top 50. Switzerland, Singapore, and Hong Kong each have two. France, Japan, Belgium, Australia, and Sweden each have one.
The ranking is based on five indicators: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry. The U.S. excels, with 17 universities in the top 30. The UK has five, and China has two.
The U.S. continues to lead in higher education.
