🗣 “You’re not a startup anymore. You should have $THING by now.” 🗣

Resources are finite and need to be focused on what matters most for the business. That remains true after you graduate from “startup”.

There are things “I’m embarrassed about” not having matured at my company — BUT what that actually means is I know outsiders with limited info on my business would make a judgment.

It doesn’t mean I have unintentionally deprioritized something.

There are other things, like generating lots of data, that I invested in earlier than an outsider might say was warranted.

Knowing what companies tend to do at your current size — while interesting at some level — is not a replacement for actual decision making.
